Tom McDonough

Tom has been in the fire service since 1983 when he joined the United States Air Force as an active-duty firefighter. Over Toms career he has worked in the Military, Industrial, Volunteer and Career Fire Departments. Tom retired from the Air National Guard in 2013 as the Fire Chief of the 133rd Airlift Wing. In 2019 Tom retired from the St Paul Fire Department at the rank of Deputy Chief for Training. Over his career Tom has worked as a Paramedic Firefighter, Fire Captain, Training Officer, District Fire Chief, and Training Chief. Tom also spent several years as a board member of the St Paul Fire Foundation and served as president of the SPFF for three years. After Tom retired from the St Paul Fire Department, he spent two years working for the Minnesota State Fire Marshal as the State Emergency Response Team Coordinator. One of Toms passions is teaching firefighters and he has taught for multiple organizations including Century College and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. Toms greatest passion is his family. He has been married to his wife Roxanne for 39 years and has five grown children and 14 grandchildren.
